A.S.M. Shahidullah Khan
Mr. A.S.M. Shahidullah Khan is a son of eminent Late Justice and Ex-Speaker Abdul Jabbar Khan.
He was a brilliant student and at all levels of his academic life, he secured 1st division/class.
He has graduated from the University of Dhaka with a brilliant academic track record. He stood 1st in the combined merit list in SSC examination under the Dhaka Board and obtained 1st class in Physics (Hons) from Dhaka University. He was a valiant freedom fighter. He actively participated in the liberation war of Bangladesh under sector-2.
Mr. Shahidullah Khan is the Managing Director of Media New Age Ltd and the publisher of the Daily New Age. He is a Director of Holiday Publication Limited.
Mr. Khan has been involved in extra-curricular, socio-cultural and voluntary activities since his student life. He was adjudged among other things as the All Pakistan best Scout in 1965, All Pakistan Debate Champion in 1967. He is a Member of the Board of Trustees of Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation (an organization for Disabled Children).

Mr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan was born in the year 1952 in a prestigious muslim family. He joined as the Chairman of the reformed Board of Directors of First Security Islami Bank PLC. He is also the Chairman of Islamic Banks’ Consultative Forum (IBCF) and Vice-Chairman of Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB). He obtained his Master of Social Sciences (MSS) from University of Dhaka. Mr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan served as the Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC. for a long time. He received the best award among the selected CEOs in the Asia Pacific and Mediterranean region 'The Asian Banker CEO Leadership Achievement Award-2016'. He also achieved, Sarder Patel Award 2016, Islamic Banking Award 2013, Remittance Ambassador of Bangladesh-2012. He attended as guest speaker at different international conferences of IDB Group (2010, 2011, 2012, 2016), Asian Development Bank (2013), Islamic Financial Services Board (2013), World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) (2014), Fleming Gulf FZE (2010) and also attended different international conference and seminars hosted by IDB, Bank Negara, IFSB, AAOIFI, CIBAFI etc., He also participated in the CEO Leadership development programs at INSEAD Business School, France, UC Berkley, San Francisco, USA, University of Oxford, UK, Columbia University, New York, USA, Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, UK.
His distinct knowledge and wide vision in banking sector make him renowned. Apart from these, Mr. Mannan has a good number of publications pertaining to Islamic Banking and others.

Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker has recently been re-elected for the next 2 Years as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dhaka Bank PLC. Mr. Sarker was born in a respectable Muslim family of Sirajgonj District. He accomplished his Post Graduation Degree (M. Com) from the University of Dhaka in 1970. After the graduation, he involved himself in international trade and business and became a reputed industrialist in the country. The sincere efforts and dynamic leadership of Mr. Sarker culminated in a large business conglomerate in the name of Purbani Group.
Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker has been elected as the Chairman of Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) unanimously for the remaining period of the current term (till 28th February, 2025). This is to be mentioned that, he is former Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB). In addition, Mr. Sarker is the Founder Chairman of Dhaka Bank PLC. and a former Director of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI). He was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker was the former President of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) for consecutive four times. He is the Founder Member of the Board of Trustees of Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI). He was also an Associate Director of International Cotton Association based in Liverpool, UK.
Besides being a leading business personality, he has been playing commendable role in social welfare and community development. Many organizations have awarded him for his outstanding contribution to the society. He has also been accorded with Commercially Important Person (CIP) status by the Government.
The re-election of Mr. Sarker will positively enhance values to Dhaka Bank and propel its continuous journey towards excellence.

Mr. Sharif Zahir is a distinguished businessman and visionary leader in Bangladesh, known for his exceptional contributions to the country's economy and business landscape. As one of the youngest recipients of the prestigious Commercially Important Person (CIP) Award, which he has earned nine times, and a multiple-time recipient of the National Export Award, Mr. Zahir has firmly established himself as a key figure in the business community. He is the eldest son of the late Humayun Zahir, a prominent industrialist, and a Sponsor Shareholder of United Commercial Bank, continuing his family's legacy through exemplary leadership.
Mr. Zahir holds a BSc degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and is an esteemed alumnus of St. Francis Xavier’s Green Herald International School in Dhaka. Under his visionary leadership, Ananta Group has diversified its business interests across multiple sectors, including ready-made garments (RMG), banking, finance, asset management, energy, e-commerce, real estate, and hospitality. The conglomerate has achieved an impressive annual turnover of USD 400 million and provides employment to over 31,000 people.
A strong advocate for sustainable development, Mr. Zahir spearheaded the creation of Ananta Terraces, the first Residential LEED Platinum certified gated community, and the JW Marriott mixed-use property in Dhaka. His commitment to sustainable practices and innovation has set new benchmarks in the industry. Additionally, he serves as the Vice President of the Bangladesh Economic Zone Investors Association, playing a pivotal role in promoting economic growth and investment in the country.
From 2019 to 2021, Mr. Zahir served on the Board of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), where he made significant contributions to sustaining the industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. He worked closely on developing incentive packages, mobile financial services (MFS), and key negotiations that helped the industry navigate the crisis. Furthermore, he was one of the founders of the RMG Sustainability Council (RSC), a groundbreaking platform that represents trade unions, brands, and manufacturers, marking the transition from Accord Bangladesh.
In his capacity as Chairman of United Commercial Bank, Mr. Zahir is dedicated to fostering transparency and accountability within the bank. His primary focus is to safeguard depositors' interests, maximize shareholder value, and elevate UCB to international standards of excellence in banking. Mr. Zahir has been an integral part of the UCB Board for over 20 years, serving as Vice Chairman of the bank from 2013 to 2015. His extensive experience and strategic insight have been instrumental in shaping the bank's growth and success.

Mr. Md. Mehmood Husain has been appointed as an Independent Director on 04 September 2024 through the reconstitution of the Board of IFIC Bank PLC by Bangladesh Bank and elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank in its 894th Meeting held on 08 September 2024.
He was born on 01 January 1959. He completed his graduation in BSS (Hons.) and Master’s in Economics from University of Dhaka. He started his career in National Bank Limited as Probationary Officer in 1984.
Mr. Md. Mehmood Husain was an independent director of Lanka Bangla Finance Limited. He also worked as the Managing Director and CEO of National Bank PLC, NRB Bank PLC, and Bank Asia PLC for almost 12 years. His career extends over 39 years and includes experience in all sectors of banking. Mr. Husain has a track record of success in banking and financial organizations, including meeting departmental goals and objectives. He served as Vice Chairman, and Member of the Governing Body of the Association of Bankers of Bangladesh Ltd. (ABB). He is the Executive Committee Member of Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB). He is also a Life Member of the Bangladesh Economic Association and the Dhaka University Economic Department Alumni Association. He is actively associated with various social organizations.
Mr. Husain has received significant training in the banking sector at home and abroad, having attended the Leadership and Innovation Workshop Programme in the United Kingdom, the United States, and France.
Mr. Husain is a Member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of IFIC Bank PLC. He is the Chairman of the IFIC Money Transfer (UK) Limited, UK and Director of Oman Exchange LLC, a joint venture company of the Bank in the Sultanate of Oman.

Hossain Khaled is a dynamic, next-generation entrepreneur whose professional journey is grounded in family values, global exposure, and a deep commitment to purposeful leadership. Educated in the United States, he holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Toledo (Ohio) and an MBA in International Banking from Texas A&M University. His earliest lessons, however, came from his father, the late Mr. Anwar Hossain—an iconic industrialist and founder of City Bank and the Anwar Group of Industries—whose mentorship shaped Hossain’s worldview and work ethic.
Since joining the family business in 2000, Hossain has held diverse leadership roles and now serves as the Group Managing Director of Anwar Group. He joined the Board of Directors of City Bank PLC in 2002 and has since served as Chairman of City Brokerage Ltd. and City Hong Kong Ltd., both subsidiaries of the Bank. He is also a member of the Bank’s Executive and Risk Management Committees, and served as the Vice-Chairman of the Board. Over the years, he has made a mark beyond the corporate world—becoming the youngest President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and the only individual to be elected four times. He also served as Co-Chairman of the Bangladesh Better Business Forum and is the founding President of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Bangladesh Chapter.
